Peter Raeburn is a BAFTA, AACTA, AMANDA and Grammy nominated composer, who recently won the prestigious Sundance 2024 World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Original Music for his otherworldly score on Thea Hvistendahl's film "Handling the Undead." Peter has won more than 75 music awards for today's most iconic films, brands, and causes.
Peter was born into a musical family in Johannesburg. After moving to London as a child, he embraced music and learned the piano, trumpet, guitar, and singing. In the early stages of his career as a professional musician, Peter was drawn to film music, and gained invaluable experience honing his craft whilst working with a wide range of composers and musical minds.
In 1997, he founded the internationally renowned and award-winning music production company, Soundtree. He has released five solo albums: "You and Me", "Scape", "Note to Self", "Recovery" and his latest record, "We Are Biophonica" a musical collaboration with Mother Nature. Peter also produced and co-wrote Anoushka Shankar's Grammy-nominated "How Dark It Is Before Dawn." He is currently putting the finishing touches on a forthcoming solo work.
With a unique ability to connect to the emotional core of every project he undertakes, Peter thrives in the collective energy of collaboration. His music moves seamlessly between epic orchestras, global choirs, homemade sounds and world-class performances, brought to life in his state-of-the-art studios in Los Angeles and London. He is known for innovating and crafting musical worlds, and landing the most ambitious of stories and ideas.
He lives in Los Angeles with his family and their dogs.
